Jeannette Island
A remote Russian Island has sparked some interesting controversy. Jeannette Island in the East Siberian sea has been blacked out by google maps.
The icy landmass covers just 1.2 square miles. It was discovered in 1881 during an expedition by an American Navy Officer, George E De Long. Some conspiracy theorists suggest that it may be a military base with an extraterrestrial presence.
